Después de una temporada sumamente complicada en el mundo del espectáculo – una huelga histórica que retrasó múltiples producciones – los nominados a los premios más prestigiosos del cine en habla inglesa se han revelado.
La 96° edición de los Oscars se llevará a cabo el 10 de marzo en el ya tradicional Dolby Theatre de Los Angeles y serán presentados, una vez más, por Jimmy Kimmel. Los actores Jack Quaid y Zazie Beetz han sido los encargados de revelar los participantes de cada categoría y, para sorpresa de muchos, Barbie – la película más taquillera de 2023 – ha recibido apenas 8 nominaciones, sin incluir Mejor Acriz para Margot Robbie.
Por otro lado algo que sin duda no sorprendió fue que Oppenheimer de Christopher Nolan se corona como la cinta con más nominaciones con un total de 13, seguida de Poor Things de Yorgos Lanthimos con 11 y Killers of the Flower Moon de Martin Scorsese con 10. Para esta edición ningún largometraje mexicano fue nominado en Mejor Película Extranjera.
